Privacy policy

This site is a small editorial journal. It is not a shop. I do not take payments, so I do not hold card numbers, wallet tokens, or booking records. There is nothing here that looks like a checkout because there is no checkout. I also do not ask for a phone number, a postal address, or a date of birth.

If you use the contact form, I receive whatever you type: usually a name, an email address, and a message. The browser may open your own mail app and send that note to [email protected]. I use that only to reply. I do not add you to a list. I do not sell, rent, or trade that information to anyone, including advertisers or railway operators. If you want a note deleted, write again and say so. I will remove the correspondence I still have and confirm when it is gone.

The hosting stack may keep ordinary server logs — time, a rough idea of an IP, the page asked for, and a user-agent string — the way most websites do. I do not treat those logs as a mailing list. I do not run advertising pixels, social share trackers, or remarketing tags. I may look at basic, anonymous analytics to see which essays are read. That is a headcount, not a profile.

Cookies, if any, are described on the cookie page. They are for basic function and, if enabled, rough readership counts. They are not a shopping cart and they do not store a payment method, because this journal never takes one. You can switch cookies off in your browser; the pages will still open.

I do not knowingly collect information from children. This is an adult traveller’s journal about quiet hours on a train, not a site aimed at young kids. If a parent thinks a child wrote in, say so and I will delete the note.

I am not a company privacy office. I am one person with a mailbox. If something here worries you, email [email protected] and I will answer in plain language.
